Redwise offers specialized Offshore Vessel Traffic Services, where our VTS Operators monitor maritime traffic, broadcast safety information and intervene timely to minimize risks. This ensures the safety of personnel and equipment, as well as environmental protection. Our VTS Operators are extensively trained and certified according to international standards.

Offshore Vessel Traffic Services

Redwise's Deep Sea Pilots are also deployed as Offshore VTS Operators. A VTS Operator can be stationed on board, for example, pipe-laying barges, offshore oil & gas platforms, and research vessels. With knowledge and experience in navigating ships through the North European waters, these experienced pilots safely monitor and guide traffic near projects.

By observing the traffic around the projects 24/7, regularly broadcasting safety information, and intervening timely, potentially dangerous situations are prevented. This provides additional safety for the people working on the projects and can prevent damage to materials, ships and the environment. It significantly reduces the risk of downtime and major incidents. Information is provided to the involved project management in close cooperation with the responsible authorities of the specific area.

Training and Certification

All our Deep Sea Pilots and VTS Operators are trained and certified in accordance with IMO resolution A1080(28), European directive 79/115/EEC and BNOB (2013). Our training is accredited by CPION and certified to ISO 9001-2015 by DNV.
