The Royal Falcon One, the way to make a F1-driver envious.

The Royal Falcon One, the way to make a F1-driver envious.

Driving a F.A. Porsche studiodesigned Catamaran, fitted with 6.880 kW propulsion power, should do that trick. And we got to drive it, just before the start of the F1 season.

REDWISE received the enquiry to deliver the superyacht Royal Falcon One on behalf of her former owners. The Royal Falcon One, fully classed by Lloyd’s Register - with the notation High Speed Craft - has been designed by Studio F.A. Porsche.

The yacht was built in 2019 by Kockums AB in Sweden and is propelled by two MTU 16V engines, delivering a total of 9.630 bhp for propulsion. If you now think she was built for speed, think again. Even though the yacht has a large accommodation and recreational capacity, the propulsion by waterjets with a shallow draft makes her able to visit secluded beaches and small ports. With a top speed of 35 knots, this 41-meter (135 feet) luxury superyacht features five guest suites and a jacuzzi on the top deck, next to 10 men crew accommodation, a tender, sun bar etc.

At Redwise, being the world’s leading ship delivery specialist, we are used to delivering ferries, work boats, tugs, cargo ships and dredgers on their own keel under own power. Yachts however come once in a blue moon. This one being very special and awarded on the basis of reputation and relationship with the brokers involved. With more than 80 qualified masters, officers and engineers from The Netherlands, and many of them working in full term employment for well over decades with Redwise, we are able to put the right crew together for any type of delivery.

The Royal Falcon One, although a commercial yacht, did not qualify for duty free fuel. But then, if you drive a Porsche (design) you don’t complain about the fuel bill. Upon handing over to her new owners, our crew was retained for several days to familiarize their crew. The permanent employment, rather than hiring by the voyage, is what distinguishes us and makes it a bit more special with the investment in the people on board. On this occasion a crew of six operated 24/7, with support from our crewing and operations departments.

The looks of the vessel, called “a spaceship at sea”, was more appealing to the ladies in the office, whereas the men were more impressed by the propulsion power. Maybe it is what makes a traditional 911 Porsche so attractive, appealing looks for one, the power and drive for the other, or both for the true admirers.

We would like to wish the incoming crew and the new owners lots of fun and enjoyment and let’s not forget: beauty (and love) is in the eye of the beholder.
